In a surprising yet exciting announcement, PixeLINK has unveiled a new high performance, low cost PL-E420 series of digital microscopy cameras that should give their competition a run for their money.

Available in 1.3, 2.0 and 3.0MP variations and connected via USB 2.0, the PL-E series of color cameras are designed for a broad range of life science and applications. The sensor architecture for the PL-E cameras provides superior anti-blooming, making the PL-E cameras an excellent choice for imaging highly reflective objects or scenes with intense illumination. The PL-E420 series also includes PixeLINK's new uScope Essentials microscopy software.  PixeLINK µScope Essentials has set out to deliver powerful software for users needing detailed high quality images, and the tools required to annotate and measure the captured images.

All in all, the PL-E microscopy cameras are a low cost solution with high performance and a small foot-print. As a pioneer in the development of high performance CMOS and CCD cameras, PixeLINK is porting its extensive imaging know-how to their new line of cameras.

There are also rumors that PixeLINK is working on Machine Vision and OEM versions for the new PL-E series, more information will be provided once it becomes available.
