HD-TVI (High Definition Transport Video Interface) is now emerging on the ever-changing camera scene. This new camera technology is founded on established HD analog video and data transmission over coaxial cabling, can support not just 720P/1080P video signals, but additionally audio and data signals over longer cable runs – all of this with ZERO latency. This new format is cost effective, easy to install, and leaves other HD analog formats in the dust!

Whereas HD-SDI (High Definition Serial Digital Interface) and HD-CVI (High Definition Composite Video Interface) are able to maintain 720P/1080P video signals, HD-TVI was ‘born’ with its strength in transmission distance.

Producing remarkable image quality, HD-TVI cameras have found their true calling with high definition surveillance video, having gathered impressive benefits to successfully excel in this new camera expertise. The HD-TVI cameras deliver an unsurpassed 614% additional pixels than that of a normal analog camera, thus transmitting greater megapixel resolution and higher quality video over longer distances, regardless of cable attributes. And speaking of cables, they can convert digital signal to analog signal expanding transmission distance up to 1600' on RG59, 700' on CAT5, over 1500 feet on RG6, more than 1000 feet on standard RG59 Coax, or over 500 feet on UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)-considerable compatibility benefits. Diverse, in that it will operate as a new system with EZHD-TVI cameras and EZHD-TVI-T Triple Technology recorders, in an existing system by using the current wiring and exchanging the camera and DVR for a more economical system, and by upgrading existing analog cameras for newer EZHD-TVI technology – and it is the only HD (High Definition) analog format that supports IP cameras. HD-TVI is compatible with current CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) cameras and existing coax cables, and HD-TVI recorders are able to record video from any analog camera, on any channel, in any formation. And unlike some HD equipment, will go together with any HD-TVI camera, irrespective of the brand. Whenever something new comes on the scene in the camera genre, you can depend on KT&C (Korea Technology and Communications) to introduce the most current, state-of-the-art product in that arena. Delivering comprehensive security solutions via quality video surveillance cameras, HD-TVI is a welcome addition to their extensive camera lines. Their OMNI EZ HD-TVI series of cameras includes bullet, mini turret, indoor IR (InfraRed) dome and outdoor IR dome cameras, so variety is the least of your worry.

The B1 series of OMNI EZ HD-TVI cameras, is the KEZ-b1TR4IR HD-TVI Mini Turret 720p30, 1/3” Progressive Scan CMOS security, surveillance/CCT camera. This IP66 weather resistant camera is able to withstand temperatures in excess of -40F degrees, or as high as 140F degrees, so its outdoor use is limitless. With 24 IR LED’s (Light-Emitting Diode) delivering 66 feet of nighttime range, illumination is never a problem. Spectacular HD resolution, it has 2.7X the detail of regular analog cameras, and twice the pixels of a 960H/WD1 analog camera. 2.8mm or 3.6mm choice of lenses, depending on your subject, and discreet weighing a bit over half a pound and only 3-1/2 inches by 2-3/4 inches in size.  Powerful, yet undetectable.

KT&C’s C-1 series of HD-TVI camera styles include a bullet, an indoor IR dome and an outdoor Turret with IR cameras. Among other shared qualities, these three cameras are 720p, have true Day/Night with motorized ICR controlled by photo sensor, and their Infrared LEDs may be disabled. 2.8 to 12 mm lenses, F=1.4 Varifocal megapixel lens captures any preferred 78°to 28° field of view, and they have digital wide dynamic range and digital zoom. And with all of them, they can function over ‘almost any’ wire, i.e., up to 1500 feet on standard RG59 coax and  longer spans on RG6, and  up to 500’ a single pair of Cat5e cable (using an optional KA-HDBAL1 balun pair). Now for some specifics: First in the C1 series is the KEZ-c1TR28V12XIR HD-TVI Outdoor Turret with IR. This small 5.14” × 3.67” (130.54 × 93.24 mm) HD-TVI camera weighs just over three-quarters of a pound (380g), but is a heavy-weight in the realm of outdoor turret dome cameras! With outstanding HD resolution, 720p video is produced using just a standard coax cable connection. With its 1/3” progressive scan CMOS sensor, superior image quality is the norm. With the camera’s true Day/Night zero light operating range of 164 feet or greater (depending on scene reflective ability) from Super Beam IR LED, illuminated video is successful. Weather and vandal resistant, this HD-TVI turret camera is built for problematic locations, and be mounted easily on ceilings or walls using its 3-Axis positioning capability.

The KEZ-c1DI28V12IR HD-TVI Indoor IR Dome camera has a 100 foot Smart IR Range (IR range varies based on setting IR reflectivity and amount of light). Its digital wide dynamic range is able to adapt to demanding bright, or uneven lighting conditions easily, and thanks to its Programmable Back Light Compensation (BLC) and Highlight Suppression Back Light Compensation (HSBLC), the amount of available light is trouble-free. With a 3-axis joystick under the access cover, it’s on screen display menu is accessible via up-the-cable signaling. With 24 IR LED’s, its night time operating span is equal to 100 feet, taking into account the application’s location and reflectivity. Small at 5.35 inches × 3.98 inches (136 mm × 101 mm) it weighs less than one pound (380g), and can be wall or ceiling installed by its easy twist mount. With a pan of  0 to 355°, tilt of 0 to 180°, and rotation of 0 to 0~355°, this little dome camera is able to view varied security applications.

The final camera in the C1 series is the HD-TVI KEZ-c1BR28V12IR, outdoor rated and vandal resistant bullet camera. Included with its on screen indicator, it has on/off for four selectable zones of motion detection and on/off for 8 zones of privacy masking. This bullet camera has an in-camera joystick and local on screen display, and is able to address multiple functions using the 5-axis joystick inside access cover (UTC (Up the Cable) Controller. Utilizing its 3-axis adaptable positioning, it can be mounted on either a wall or ceiling. With 42 IR (InfraRed) LED’s (Light-Emitting Diode), it is able to deliver a night range of 164 feet based on the scene selection, and has a 131 foot Smart IR Range (again, IR range is variable, based on the set IR reflectivity and amount of light).  This 3 pound (1.35Kg) camera is 4.13” × 3.42” × 10.52” (105 × 86.9 × 267.2mm) in size, and is able to see, but not ‘be’ seen.

Simply stated, HD-TVI multi-megapixel cameras produce distinct, high definition imaging, with longer transmission distances than ever before. They can pick up features after the fact and without analog distortion, produce cost effective, top-quality imaging each and every time, and decrease video storage space. HD-TVI cameras from KT&C are available from Aegis Electronic Group, Inc., and are waiting for you to take your high resolution video surveillance essentials to the next technological step.
