With its Visibility Enhancer, the darker parts of an image are more brilliant, and brightness and contrast are automatically corrected to show areas clearly without overexposure. Utilizing the camera’s features make it ideal for a tremendous amount of applications, ranging from security surveillance and challenging intelligent traffic systems (which coordinate drivers, pedestrians, public transportation and traffic management system) to remote monitoring, inspection and video conferencing. The FCB-EV7100 also has High Light Compensation (HLC) aiding in license plate recognition, by masking image headlight bright spots, and automatically compensating for it, equaling improved images. While its built-in StableZoom™ element, image stabilization and optical/digital zoom are joined to improve picture quality, safeguard against blurring, and maintain the original horizontal angle of view. The FCB-EV7100’s many features are valuable in a variety of environmental conditions. If the area surrounding the subject is foggy or of low contrast, the defog mode will make the subject appear well-defined. Utilizing its Wide-Dynamic Range Mode, this amazing FCB-EV7100 camera clearly observes the lighting differences within an image in high contrast and back-lit environments, and allows the camera to select different lighting intensities at its full 1920 x 1080/60p HD video output. The digital LVDS (Low-Voltage Differential Signaling) interface (Digital Output, Y/Cb/Cr 4:2:2) offers easy access for IP and Gigabit Ethernet applications. As a result of the digital interface, the excellence of the camera’s video signal is maintained with minimal deterioration, making it cost effective thanks to the direct connection with codecs/systems, eliminating the need for additional components. When looking towards combining a camera into a drone, obviously size of the camera is of primary importance. The Sony FCB-EV7100 camera is a mere 1-13/16 x 1-15/16 x 3-1/8 inches (45.6 x 48.8 x 78 mm), and weighs 7.4 ounces (210 g), or about the same as an envelope with 5 stamps on it. Really lightweight! And it’s advanced five level Digital Noise Reduction capability filters noise from the image for clearer results, especially in low-light conditions. As thought that was all, its picture effects include E-Flip, Nega Art, Black & White, Mirror Image and Color Enhancement. It is widely known that this FCB-EV7100 is an outstanding camera, with innumerable benefits. However, are you aware of its drone capabilities? Drones, or UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), are being employed for everything from warfare to Las Vegas bottle service, to Hollywood’s enthusiasm about incorporating aerial photography in filmmaking. In the cinema, the UAV’s hold the promise of new creative options, real cost savings and possibly even safer sets. Filming days when using a helicopter equate to a major expenses and few creative options. With a drone, the average ‘shooting’ days are reduced by at least half, the expense of a helicopter rental is removed, and the need for a human camera man in the sky with a hand-held camera is gone. Today’s technologically innovative drones can be controlled either autonomously by onboard computers capturing what the drone ‘sees’, or by remote control with a pilot on the ground or in another vehicle. While first used by the military, drones are now used in the private sector by police and firefighters. The use of drones have opened up whole new panoramas of aerial discovery. Able to now record previously unseen or difficult/impossible to navigate locations, can now be reached with a drone. They have been utilized in relief efforts in disaster situations, and have greatly speeding up those necessary, and possible life-threatening, endeavors. These flying cameras allow exploration of locations ranging from mountain tops to inside underground tunnels, allowing construction to build inroads where previously there were none. Drone cave exploration makes it possible to show the magnitude of caves, some of which were only recently discovered. They can go hundreds of feet under the surface of the Earth, capturing unknown green jungles some 600 feet below the Earth's surface. How about getting as close as possible to an explosive volcano without risking life or limb. Using video recording drones, spectacular footage of eruptions can be captured, showing boiling lava and massive smoke rising from the site - video that actually takes one’s breath away. Drones capture mesmerizing recordings of places no conventional camera can reach.

With the Sony FCB-EV7100, good things really do come in small packages. Providing first-person view (FPV), a camera equipped drone sends a pilot's-eye view directly to a phone or tablet. Video has never been so unconventional or informational, showing what man has never seen before. And while talking about FCB-EV7100 equipped drones, this art has broadened to the new sport of drone racing! … and yes, there is a 2015 Fatshark US National Drone Racing Championship held in California, for those drone enthusiasts who want to take it to a new level!

Drones have no boundaries – truly the sky IS the limit!
