Although not confirmed in any way, shape or form by Sony, there are rumors circling that Sony Europe will be debuting a new Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) industrial camera prototype at the Vision Expo 2008 which kicks off this week in Stuttgart, Germany.
The Vision Expo is an international trade fair for machine vision and identification technologies. It is an innovation show, acquisition platform and know-how transfer forum rolled into one. Lucrative business relations are established during the trade fair. The latest developments are presented and discussed during the Industrial VISION Days. Outstanding innovations are recognized by the VISION Award. All in all, VISION is the leading marketplace for the international machine vision industry.
In the event this rumor proves to be true, I will post information as soon as I receive it. Stay Tuned!
