Day/Night Imaging in a Security Camera ~ The Watec WAT-233 1/3" CCD Low Light Camera

Their newest addition to an ever changing line of security cameras is the WAT-233 high resolution, low light, Dual Shutter WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) Day/Night camera, and replaces the Watec WAT-1000 camera. Producing Day/Night imaging for optimal color in daylight, and extreme high sensitivity in the dark, this camera’s 650 TVL (television lines) resolution utilizes the advanced technology of Effio-P Wide Dynamic Range performance assuring crisp, clear images day or at night.
The Watec WAT-233 high-resolution, low light indoor camera features a 1/3-inch interline transfer CCD image sensor, allows the camera to capture images and deliver video in true color in daylight, and extreme high sensitivity in the dark. This combination of Watec's black/white low light technology cameras and the high resolution of their color cameras, has resulted in perfect lighting contrasts.
In AE (automatic exposure) mode, the camera makes all the decisions for the operator: aperture setting, shutter speed, white balance and ISO (level of sensitivity of the camera to available light). The WAT-233 has a fixed Automatic Exposure mode, an EI (exposure index) shutter speed of: 1/60, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/4000, 1/10,000 second (flicker suppress), with an EI slow shutter speed (Slow Shutter: FLD [fluorescent light filter]) of x16, x8, x4, x2. Coupled with a digital zoom of 2 - 256x (MAG/PAN/TILT), the WAT-233 is able to obtain spectacular, detailed close-up pictures. Additionally featuring four types of White Balance settings (ATW, PWB, MWB and Preset), and a noise reduction function, the image improvement results in a reduction of noise in low lighting conditions.
With its high performance Dual Shutter WDR (Wide Dynamic Range), the normalizing of high lighting contrast environments is accomplished. With On/Off Back Light Compensation and V-Flip / H-Flip / HV-Flip and mirror imaging, image brilliance is at your fingertips. This, combined with low-light sensitivity, allows this camera to delivers excellent imaging quality required for demanding 24-hour security environments.
Advanced features such as Backlight Compensation ensure clear images, despite changes in the lighting conditions. The back focus ring lets you easily adjust the back ring to accommodate various lenses for optimum utilization of the camera. Plus, WAT-232S features an external trigger input for activating image capture via an external device. The EX2CS Mountable 2X Range Extender doubles the Focal Length of the lens (not recommended for night time), and attaches between lens and camera, and is the correct extender for this CS mount camera (back focus adjustable).
With its ease of operation, and ability to change camera settings remotely with RS485 Serial Communication PELCO-D Protocol, blurry surveillance videos are truly a thing of the past! Packaged in a compact design, the camera is only 2.13”L x 1.75”W x 1.73D" (54 x 44.5 x 44 mm) and weights a scant 5.29 ounces (150 g), perfect for almost invisible surveillance!
