The FCB-IV7315 color block camera is equipped with OLPF (Optical Low Pass Filter), and is excellent for close-up applications in low vision systems, producing crystal clear results. Able to decrease the moiré effect (which degrades the quality and resolution of graphic images), the OLF increases the sensitivity and clarity when scanning documents or artificial patterns at a close distance.
[caption id="attachment_6996" align="alignright" width="275"] FCB-IV7315 New Color Block Camera from Sony, with Optical Low Pass Filter (OLPF)[/caption]In this ever-expanding camera world, Sony Corporation continues to evolve - and seemingly produce cameras specific to a category where there is a void. Once again, they demonstrate that the progress and development of the industrial camera is securely residing in their hands. Their trademark FCB Series just added a new kid on the block, the FCB-IV7315, which incorporates high image quality and flexibility for a variety of low light applications, including document scanning. With its color enhancement options (monochrome, binary, inverted and enhanced color modes), the ability to read text has been perfectly simplified.
Supported by its high-performance 1/2.8-type Exmor™ CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) image sensor with 1080p resolution, it accomplishes exceptional Full High Definition (1920 x 1080) picture quality (2.13 million effective pixels). With a 20x optical zoom lens, when combined with its digital zoom function, zoom up to 240x is the order of the day. The FCB-IV7315’s imaging reaches a new high for particularly detailed viewing, and is perfect for capturing detail in printed materials. This non-security module camera enables flexible, high image quality in a small-form package: 2 x 2 3/8 x 3 1/2 inches (50.0 x 60.0 x 87.9 mm) weighing only 9.6 ounces (270 g).
Many of the features from Sony’s widely known and undeniably respected FCB Series line are included in the FCB-IV7315; Wide-D1, Auto ICR (Infrared Cut filter Removal) for increased light sensitivity in monochrome mode, StableZoom™, Spherical Privacy Zone Masking and Visibility Enhancer. This camera, however has a few tricks of its own: backlight compensation, de-fog, image stabilization, spherical privacy zone masking, motion detection alarm, slow shutter and temperature readout are just several of these features. The FCB-IV7315 also has multiple picture effects, E-Flip, Nega Art, Black & White, Mirror Image, Color Enhancement, TTL signal-level control VISCA™ protocol, and digital noise reduction (2D and 3D).
In low light applications, the FCB-IV7315 color camera can record in minimum illumination of 50%, can ‘see’ in 0.1 lx of light in High Sensitivity mode, and in Normal mode, can ‘see’ in 0.4 lx of illumination. Its 22 step shutter speed (exposure time) ranges from 1/1 second to 1/10,000 second. Shutter speed is used to control the amount of light recorded by the camera’s digital sensor, and can also be used to manipulate the visual effects of the final image. In the Auto Focus mode, minimum focus distance is 10mm at the optical wide end, and 1000mm at the optical telephoto end, independent of the digital zoom. The FCB-IV7315 has a horizontal viewing angle in 1080p mode of 59.5° (wide end) to 3.3° (tele end), in 720p mode 59.5° (wide end) to 3.3° (tele end), and in SD mode it is 44.6° (wide end) to 2.5° (tele end).
Packed with features such as E-Flip (reversing the video output from the camera both horizontally and horizontally), it has the ability to freeze an image in the memory, so that image can be output continuously. With its 16 sets of memory presets, including zoom, digital zoom on/off, focus position, shutter control parameters, bright control, Iris control, gain control, exposure compensation on/off, exposure level, backlight compensation on/off, auto slow shuttering on/off, white balance (10 settings), aperture control, ICR on/off, and defog, this camera is ready for most any minimal light application.
Successfully tested by Aegis Electronic Group, Inc., with their SDI-EV and SDI-EV-GM interface boards, the FCB-EV7315 operates successfully and efficiently. Available through Aegis Electronic Group, Inc., this new FCB-IV7315 Full High Definition camera can be ordered now. When close-up document scanning and recording from close distances are required, the FCB-IV7315 should be the only selection.
