SRG-120DS and SRG-360SHE, two new cameras from Sony’s expanded SRG PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) camera line up are coming.
The SRG-120DS will launch first; SRG-360SHE’s rescheduled for future introduction.
As technology moves forward, so do machine vision cameras continue in their quest to improve. Feature similarities between cameras are a must, as applications require multiple cameras to ‘do comparable things’. And, while this may be true, all new cameras come with their own ‘spark’, making them stand-out and be recognized for their special qualities.
The SRG-120DS, Full High Definition (FHD) 1920 x 1080, remotely operated
desktop PTZ camera, is equipped with a particularly low noise sensor even when placed in diminished light environments. With the latest high sensitivity, 1/2.8-type Exmor® CMOS (Complementary Metal–Oxide–Semiconductor) imaging sensor, and its elevated frame rate of 60 frames per second, a smooth, effortless duplication of moving subjects is captured. An exceptionally wide 71-degree field of view allows this desktop camera to be ideal in projects where noise restrictions are present: video conferencing, healthcare training, monitoring, as well as capturing lecture presentations, houses of worship and consultation applications, all thanks to its fast silent PTZ operation. With the improved features found in the entire line of SRG cameras, the SRG-120DS excels with 3G-SDI (Serial Digital Interface) for long distance system integration, and progressive scan (no analog/interlace option), that sets it
apart.

SRG-120DS FHD, Desktop PTZ Remotely Operated Camera By Sony[/caption]
With Sony’s View-DR® technology, the SRG-120DS has increased dynamic range for high-quality color video imaging in extremes of light and dark, or harsh lighting circumstances in the same scene. With XDNR™ (eXcellent Dynamic Noise Reduction) expertise, image noise is reduced in less than ideal lighting conditions for crisp, clear pictures.
Utilizing its 3.9mm (wide) to 46.8mm (telephoto) focal lengths, near as well as far away subjects are well within view. Together with approximately 2.1 megapixels, the subject’s clarity is guaranteed. The SRG-120DS camera’s adaptability is increased thanks to its ability to be controlled remotely using VISCA command protocols over traditional IP (Internet Protocol) network. With a 12x optical zoom range and 12x digital zoom (144x High Power Zoom), close-up details are seen clearly. Its focal length is 3.9 mm on the wide side, to 46.8 in telephoto. Autofocus makes sure that images remain clear and crisp, even at high zoom settings, and because of its 71-degree field of view, small- to mid-sized rooms can be covered perfectly. With a silent PTZ operation equipped with 16 preset camera positions, it is fast and easy to re-frame shots without disturbing the presenter or any audience members. Six preset positions can be controlled by a supplied IR remote commander unit. The new SRG-120DS is the perfect replacement to the discontinued EVI-HD1 camera.
On track for the end of July production is Sony’s SRG-360SHE, FHD remote network camera. Equipped with heightened PTZ capability, i.e., PTZ synchronous simultaneous motion, PTZ trace memory in presets and PT slow move, is on its way. With improved PTZ mechanism, smooth, steady camera movements are assured for polished, professional-looking coverage of any application. Separate pan, tilt and zoom movements can be synchronized to start and stop together, and a 'trace' of pre-set camera positions can be stored for recall at any time. The SRG-360SHE is at the high end of the SRG series and is ideal for vertical markets such as distance learning and lecture capturing for education, government, and Faith recordings.
As with the SRG-120DS, the SRG-360SHE has a 1/2.8-type Exmor® CMOS imaging sensor, 1920 x 1080, and a frame rate of 60 frames per second. It is desktop or ceiling mountable, thanks to E-flip flexibility, and has 30x optical zoom, and 12x digital zoom for stunning details. Supporting a wide, 65-degree horizontal viewing angle, and a pan angle of ±170° at a speed of 60 degrees per second. Its Tilting angel is +90° to -30° at a speed of 60 degrees per second, and has 256 preset positions, using a plug-in free viewer and ActiveX viewer, with number 17 to 256 stored as PTZF only. Minimum illumination is 1.4 lux, the same as with the SRG-120DS.

Sony SRG-360SHE Full HD Remote Network Camera with Enhanced PTZ[/caption]
Enhanced stereo audio from an (optional) connected stereo microphone or the onboard equalizer and auto level control. Undesired signal delays between audio and video are balanced by the auto lip-sync function. The camera can be controlled with a quiet and rapid motion to the objective position over a wide pan/tilt angle range thanks to its strong direct-drive motor. This ‘synchronization’ ability provides professional-looking moves with smooth synchronized motion. With a ‘slow’ setting for precise tracking and sequential camera positions, the information can be stored and then recalled as a preset ‘Trace’.
With PoE+ (Power-over-Ethernet), the SRG-360SHE can provide IP video, audio, and power by means of one cable connection, providing a simplistic and flexible installation. Supporting triple streaming outputs, it can simultaneously output 1080/60p baseband video through 3G-SDI, HDMI and an H.264-compressed video/audio stream via IP. Thanks to this
triple streaming ability, the SRG-360SHE is perfect for webcasting (streaming), viewing and simultaneously recording conferences, lectures, and live events. Easily supports up to 256 camera stored, preset positions using a plug-in free viewer and ActiveX viewer.
Be assured, upon Sony Corporation's releases of the Full HD SRG120DS camera, and successive releases the SRG-360SHE,
Aegis Electronic Group, Inc. will have them available and ready to ship. Now is the time to place pre-orders, assuring each application has the ultimate camera available!
