nVision GX3 by dPict Imaging, Inc. is quickly stepping into the future for multi-format intelligent acquisition devices.
Specifically designed for embedded video applications, the GX3 is furnished with a formidable TI (Texas Instruments®) DM8168 video processor (900 MHz Digital Signal Processing) with integrated 1.2 GHz ARM® Cortex™ (A8 Linux Operating System) RISC CPU, permitting independent, simple video processing from network and programmable, general-purpose I/O (Input/Output) triggers for event notification. Employing the integrated ARM processor and 2 gigabyte frame buffer, nVision GX3 provides reliable image transfer, preventing dropped images. The
nVision GX3 also supplies a dual UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) serial communications interface to control cameras, a USB 2.0 interface, and an SD memory card interface.
With the ability to record dual autonomous HD (High Definition) video inputs, the nVision GX3 communicates over TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) networks in real time, with very little inactivity.
nVision GX3 contains a HDMI output 1.3a-compliant transmitter for digital video, and audio data to display devices up to 1080p60 at 165MHz pixel rates. Output video can be recorded by live video input, or playback.
As a thorough board support bundle, this HD video recording module comes complete with drivers and samples, and the ability for simultaneous encoding and decoding video in H.264). Packed with image processing capability, the nVision GX3 has as image enhancement, stabilization, advanced motion detection, noise filtering, frame de-interlacing, image rotation, video overlay, or scan, as well as the ability for format and rate conversion. Its audio recording and playback allows for immediate recording of analog or digital audio, as well as HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) and Line Level In/Out. This Sony block video module is also able to support dual FCB-EV series HDTV block cameras, with communication and power delivered by the
nVision GX3 - clean installation is achieved with available 30-pin micro-coax cables.

The
nVision GX3 video acquisition board’s trim size (3.432" length x 3.432" width) permits it to be installed anywhere a network connection exists, and it has low power consumption. With an operating temperature of 0° C to 70° C (32° F to 158° F), it functions in a wide-range of temperatures, and has a broad span of relative humidity of 5% up to 95% non-condensing. Available with up to 1 gigabyte of flash memory for boot load options, presets, or integrated web interface, so information storage is not an issue. Utilizing Symtec 180 position and 60 position basic blade and beam socket strip, connecting and disconnecting is trouble-free, and its 20-, 30-, and 40-position zero insertion force flat flex cable connectors allow for swift, easy union.
As a result of its powerful TI DM642 video processor, the
nVision GX3 is ideal for video streaming or analysis applications. Innovative applications include surgical robotics, the advancing robotic development category, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Virtual Reality (VR), or immersive multimedia technology. Forward progress with the nVision GX3 video acquisition for mobile and remote capture video will leave others trying to catch up.
