The world’s smallest, most versatile, high quality HD/SD/SDI / HDMI recorder/player
has just arrived!
In this day and age, the ability to make items smaller and more compact reigns supreme. Now, the innovation of the world’s smallest high quality HD/SD/SDI / HDMI recorder/player brings “form follows function” to reality. [caption id="attachment_2305" align="aligncenter" width="128" caption="Convergent Design nanoFlash"][/caption] The nanoFlash is a two-card version of Convergent Design’s larger Flash XDR, and represents an optimal size unit for on-camera use. This unit records video, audio and time-code from an HD-SDI stream onto Compact ash c (CF) cards, and employs the high-quality Sony 4:2:2 MPEG2 CODEC for compression. With its tiny size (4-7/8” high x 3-3/4” wide x 1–3/8” thick), weighing less than one-half pound, it is all solid-state, rugged, and without any moving parts, equipped with SDI and HDMI I/O as well as connectors for remote and power. This recorder/player has the lowest power at less than 10W active and less than 2W standby, making this nanoFlash poised to revolutionize the industry. It is a portable, camcorder-mountable nanoFlash, bringing state of the art technology into a miniature Compact flash HD/SD/SDI and HDMI recorder/player. [caption id="attachment_2299" align="aligncenter" width="96" caption="nanoFlash HD Recorder/Player"][/caption] Offering a dramatically better image, this nanoFlash HD Recorder/Player also is free from image problems such as motion artifacts and mosquito noise, offering a better image than many high-end cameras. The ability to withstand extreme temperatures, high humidity, high altitudes – high vibrations and high G-forces, makes the utilization of this recorder/player extremely attractive for a large variety of uses, specifically, broadcast applications. Designed to record higher quality images than the camera itself, and using the cameras uncompressed 4:2:2 HD-SDI or HDMI output, nanoFlash accepts an incoming HD/SD-SDISD-SDISD-SDI video signal, with embedded audio and time code or an HDMI video and audio signal. The nanoFlash records the video/audio as MPEG2 at user selected bit-rates, using Long-GOP or Intraframe recording, in native Quicktime for Final Cut Pro, or MXF for Avid, Sony Vegas, Edius and other non-linear editors. All of this allows the user to choose, for every shoot, an appropriate image quality, file size, file type and maximum length of recording. The data is recorded to Compact Flash cards, in either native Quicktime or native MXF file formats. The NanoFlash includes both HD/SD-SDISD-SDISD-SDI In and Out as well as HDMI In and out. The HD/SD-SDISD-SDISD-SDI connections are made via a standard BNC connector, while the HDMI I/O uses the new type C mini-HDMI connector. Any camera which outputs SDI or HMDI may be used with the nanoFlash, including Sony models FCB-H11 (with the HDSDI option), BRC-H700, BRC-Z700, and EVI-D, EVI-HD3v and the EVI-HD7V; Toshiba models IKHR1S, IKHD1 and IKHR1CS; and Hitachi model HV-HD30. Utilizing two Compact Flash card slots, this little wonder records seamlessly from one card to the next. Recording Time is as follows (with two 32GB CF cards): 420 minutes at 19 Mbps; 160 minutes at 50 Mbps; 80 minutes at 100 Mbps, and 50 minutes at 160 Mbps.Features:
