Sony's new XCG-U100CR and XCG-5005CR
gigabit ethernet cameras are ideal for Intelligent Traffic, Machine Vision and Industrial applications. By utilizing the features and benefits of the
GigE Vision interface, these cameras expand the possibilities for factory automation, food and beverage inspection and pharmaceutical applications.
The
XCGU100CR and
XCG5005CR cameras use a CCD with a color mask (commonly called a “Bayer filter”) and output the “raw color” pixel values in 8, 10 or 12 bit to be converted to a color image on a computer. The conversion takes place in the computer and is supported by Sony’s XCG-Software and a variety of commercially available third-party software programs.

The Bulk Trigger mode and Sequential Trigger mode are unique benefits the XCG-U100CR and XCG-5005CR have inherited from Sony’s XCD Series. These trigger options reduce the need to receive signals from the host PC.
“Bulk Trigger Mode” captures up to 16 images in rapid succession using a single software or hardware trigger. “Sequential Trigger Mode” periodically sends a software or hardware trigger to the camera to capture the successive images. These cameras have a memory channel that allows up to 16 different settings which enables the camera to capture these images.
